As our new Holiday Claims Solicitor, you’ll have a major impact on helping us achieve our goal. You’ll be overseeing and addressing injury and illness claims related to Jet2holidays, alongside handling quality complaints, with a strategic focus on minimising costs to the business while maximising reclaims from suppliers.

This pivotal role involves providing dedicated support to the General Manager – Regulatory and Litigation and the Jet2holidays legal claims team daily, fostering seamless collaboration with external lawyers and insurers to achieve optimal outcomes.

What you’ll be doing:
  • You'll Read, assess, and make decisions on pre-litigation and post-lit claims.
  • You'll be involved with reviewing and authorising Defences, Schedules of Loss, Instructions to experts etc.
  • You'll Investigate costs incurred by the business to see if contributions can be made from external parties where they are at fault – instigating these investigations and entering into appropriate discussions and negotiations.
  • You'll work closely with the company’s brokers, insurers, and their loss adjusters in respect of claims management directly supporting the GM – Regulatory & Litigation.
  • You'll support the General Manager – Regulatory and Litigation, in the handling of any serious notifications we receive (legionnaires/outbreaks/serious or catastrophic injuries).
  • You'll deliver training within the Legal Department and across the business on relevant issues and claims-handling processes.

What you’ll have:

We’re looking for a Qualified Solicitor with at least 2 years of post-qualification experience ideally in travel law.
  • In-house travel experience would be desirable.
  • Working knowledge of Package Travel Regulations, ABTA Code of Conduct and ATOL Regulations.
  • Full working knowledge of claims handling processes and Civil Procedure Rule.
