Early starts
Being Cabin Crew is not a normal 9-5 role and will require you to frequently be at work as early as 4 or 5am, any day of the week, for our first flights of the day.
You need to make sure you would be able to get safely to the airport on time for your duties and ready to deliver our famous customer service no matter the time of day!
Being on standby
As part of the Cabin Crew role you will be rostered Standby duties. We have two different types of standby duties: Home Standby and at the Airport.
When on Home Standby you would be required to be contactable between allotted times in case we need you to operate a flight at short notice. We will give you two hours’ notice when you are needed from receiving the call to you being at the airport, so it’s important you don’t plan any appointments during these times in case you’re needed.
For at the Airport standby duties, you would be at the Airport in uniform ready to step in should you be needed to operate a flight.
75 mins travel to the airport
To ensure you’re able to report for duty when required, Cabin Crew must live within 50 miles of their allocated airport or be able to commute to the airport within 75 minutes. If you do not meet either of these requirements, you would need to relocate closer to your allocated airport.
Safety and Security
At Jet2.com, safety and security are at the heart of the Cabin Crew role. If successful, you’ll be required to provide a five-year employment history, as well as criminal record checks from any country where you have lived for more than six months within the last two years. You’ll also need to complete a full airport vetting process. As a member of our Cabin Crew team, you’ll be responsible for the safety and security of both our customers and colleagues on every flight. A significant part of your training will prepare you for a wide range of situations that can arise onboard, including First Aid, emergency procedures and Dangerous Goods. Being comfortable and confident in handling serious situations is an essential part of the role.

At Jet2.com, we’re known for the friendly and award-winning service our Cabin Crew deliver on every flight. As part of the team, you’ll be responsible for creating a fantastic experience for our customers, no matter the situation or time of day. Every customer is different and our Cabin Crew go above and beyond to make every journey memorable, helping to create positive experiences and lasting memories from take-off to landing.
Thinking on your feet
As Cabin Crew you will be faced with a variety of situations onboard and at 30,000ft you will need to be the ambulance, police and fire service for our customers. Having the ability to stay calm and think on your feet is essential when faced with a medical emergency, fire or even an emergency landing. Full training is provided to help you face all these situations but you will need to be confident to take ownership of these for our customers.
Sales through Service
Our Cabin Crew are responsible for promoting and selling our in-flight products and Duty Free range, helping to enhance our customers’ experience onboard. As sales are an important part of the role, you’ll need to be confident engaging with customers and recommending products. In return, you’ll benefit from our industry-leading commission scheme, with the opportunity to earn excellent rewards and win fantastic incentives and prizes.
Cleaning
Getting your hands dirty is part of the Cabin Crew role and we need people who are ready to get stuck in to keep our cabin pristine. Regular trips through the cabin collecting our customers rubbish is part of the role, along with a full cabin clean when we arrive in destination before our returning customers board their flight home.
Energy
Working at 30,000ft can take it’s toll on your energy levels, so it’s really important if you take on the Cabin Crew role you keep yourself fit and healthy. You will frequently work 12 hour days, with you either getting up or getting home at 3am, so your body clock will be a bit confused. Eating right and taking regular exercise will really help to keep you energised for the role and feeling as good at the end of your day as you did at the start.
