We're looking for a Technical Specialist to help improve our customers holiday experience. At Jet2, we're flying around 14 million passengers this year, that's a lot of the nation, and we want everybody to enjoy that time as much as they can. We are also growing the business and increasing the size of our network and we know we can do more for our customers. We understand digital is at the heart of every experience within our lives today and we embrace that so we can maximise our customers enjoyment when holidaying with us.
Customers trust us and spend their hard-earned money with us for some of the most important weeks of their year, creating memories that will last a lifetime. That's important and we must get it right. To do this we need to make it easy to search and book, deliver our schedule on time and safely, and create holiday experiences while always ensuring our customers have peace of mind that Jet2 is always with them to help. To do that it takes an army, powered by digital tools to make it happen. We need to deliver great digital experiences for our customers, but we also need to provide those experiences to our colleagues and suppliers to help create and facilitate the Jet2 experience.
To make all this happen we have a vast estate of digital products, data and processes and as a Technical Specialist you'll become part of a wider Application Architecture practice, driving success through technology. You'll work as a leader within a particular technical domain advocating the highest possible standards and best in class solutions.
What are we looking for?
We're looking for candidates with expert experience in any of the following:
Implementing RESTful microservice architectures using .NET, SQL Server or NoSQL databases, Redis, containers and Kubernetes
Delivering decoupled, event driven systems preferably implemented with Kafka
Building enterprise level content managed applications using Sitecore Headless Services
Building high-performance, scalable web applications using Next.js and TypeScript
What you'll be doing:
Advocating the delivery of best-in-class solutions within your technical domain of expertise by defining appropriate standards and working across multiple delivery teams to ensure those standards are adhered to
Collaborate with the solutions architects, contributing to low-level solution designs and providing high-level estimates to assist the business in the creation of delivery roadmaps
Work across multiple delivery teams assisting them in the implementation of your designs from project inception to go live
Implementing proof-of-concepts and working with third parties to trial new tooling and techniques without fear of failure
Collaborate with the wider architectural community and help steer the future technical roadmaps of Jet2
What you will need:
Proven experience working in a senior technical role delivering high-performance enterprise level solutions at scale
Great communication skills, able to talk about complex technical topics in a non-technical fashion
Comfortable providing technical leadership across multiple delivery teams
A passion for new technology and a drive to constantly improve the technical solutions we deliver
Experience in working in a fast-paced environment, managing competing workloads and prioritising appropriately
