Release Engineer, based at Holiday House in Leeds City Centre.  This is a hybrid role with the ability and scope to work flexibly from home.

Reporting to the General Manager - Release and Platform Ops, we are looking for an experienced Release Engineer to join the team responsible for deploying our ecommerce and back-office applications. This is a vital role in the IT Team as we work as one team and take responsibility to focus on normal business operations after 2 years of turmoil.

What will you do in the role?
As a Release Engineer, you will be tasked with deploying our applications to production and pre-production, as well as improving and further automating the deployment process.
You will be responsible for:
  • The deployment of applications to production and key pre-production environments
  • Increasing the quality of deployments by improving and automating processes
  • Automating the provisioning of test and production environments
  • Working on centralised tools that can be used across the business.
What are the key skills / experience you’ll already have?
This is an essential role in a team that deployed over 250 releases last year across our extensive applications portfolio. You will have:
  • Expert understanding and experience of DevOps implementation for both infrastructure and application deployment.
  • Experience of orchestrating build and release pipelines in Azure DevOps
  • Tools knowledge: Azure DevOps, Octopus Deploy, Git, Terraform, Kubernetes, Helm, Docker would be an advantage.
  • Programming / scripting skills in at least one language
  • Knowledge of containerisation technologies would be advantageous
  • Demonstrable communication, presentation and negotiation skills are essential to advocate for DevOps, agile and reliability concepts within the team.
  • A good grasp of using Windows as an administrator, I.e. Working with IIS, event viewer, stopping/starting services, etc.
