Based at Ibiza Airport and reporting to the Quality Manager Spain, we are looking to appoint a Safety Representative (RSO) supporting the Ibiza & Mahon base to act as a local safety focal. Ideally you will have previous experience working as a PSA, Ramp Agent or Dispatcher.

- the management of safety (including ground safety, HSE & Security)
- effective continuous safety improvement
- reporting of events and near misses
- delivery of Just culture and safety policies
- Act as link between safety and the operation
- Focal point Safety, HSE and Security through learning and development.
- Promote the just reporting culture at the station(s)
- Understand the effective practical application of all appropriate regulations (AENA, AESA) and company procedures (GHM, GOP, etc.)
- Support the risk management processes at the station such as risk assessments, safety assurance, MoC and hazard identification.
- Control and update of the Operational Safety Performance Indicators
- Update and control of the annual Ground Safety Program
- Management and update of the local Airport PVSO ensuring adequate communication to the Airport Authority, Station Management and Safety Management Team
- Keep up-to-date with local AENA emergency plan and Technical Instructions and ensure communication with the relevant stakeholders (such as Station Management and Training)
- Support the local Station Manager and Ground Ops Safety Manager Spain with the investigation of incidents / accidents and the implementation of corrective and preventive actions. Also, issue safety recommendations as required.
- Organise and attend local safety meetings both internal (SAC) and external (airfield safety committee)
- Monitor the Safety Performance Indicator at the base(s) and report metrics
- Liaise with the Safety Management Team to improve the safe working environment
- Assist with the relevant learning and development programmes including safety and H&S training
- Act as a member of the Event Review Group, when required
- Assist with Quality and Audit compliance monitoring functions
- Act as liaison agent with third-party service providers and the authorities at the station
Experience and Education
- Excellent understanding of the management of safety
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in the aviation sector, preferably in ground handling
- Preferably with Safety Management Systems training and experience
- Recognised training or trainer accreditation (Facilitation) is desirable
- Organised with effective time management skills
- Effective communication skills.
- Technically and analytically minded
- Reliable and discrete.
- Understanding of Human Factors and Just Culture
- Proactive and seeks continuous improvement
- Produce reports to a high standard
- Passionate over the management of safety
- Effective facilitation capabilities
- Good written and spoken English and Spanish are required.
