As Purchasing Team Leader you will coordinate a team of Buyers to ensure the availability of a range of aerospace components for both inventory and projects while supporting key decisions on how best to fulfil material requirements and prioritise workloads effectively. The Purchasing Team Leader will clearly delegate and organise work tasks within the team to ensure a smooth day to day operation.

Some Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure the teams delivery on spares & materials requested for aircraft meet required on dock/supplier promised dates.
• Review & explore opportunities for continuous improvement in the current processes relating to material supply and procurement.
• Play a key role in training members of the department in their roles including the ‘on boarding’ of new starters.
• Assist the Senior Buyer in all areas and key projects and deputise for the Senior Buyer when required.
• Obtain quotes and negotiate costs with suppliers and identify and demonstrate material cost savings.
• Place, progress and manage orders/contracts to ensure minimum fiscal exposure & maximum material availability.
• Evaluate and report day-to-day performance and updates to other business areas ensuring that suppliers provide credible and achievable information to demonstrate performance adherence.
• Help the team of Buyers understand the cost impact of their decision making process to maximise performance and productivity and minimise any unnecessary cost to the business.
