Our Entry Requirements

What you need in order to apply

Direct Entry Captains

  • Minimum 3,000 hours Total flying time (factorised)
  • In excess of 1,000 hours Command flying time (Factorised) on a B737/B757 or A321 Aircraft, or a similar size and configuration Commercial Jet Aircraft
  • Valid UK Part-FCL issued Pilots Licence
  • Valid UK issued Class 1 Medical - minimum of 6 months validity when joining
  • The unrestricted right to work in the UK
  • English Language proficiency – minimum level 5

First Officers

  • Minimum 500 hours Total flying time including:
  • Experience on a medium to heavy Commercial Multi Crew, Multi Engine Jet or Turboprop aircraft, or Military flying experience
  • If Type Rated on the B737/B757 or A321 – in excess of 500 hours flying time on type
  • Valid UK Part-FCL issued Pilots Licence
  • Valid UK issued Class 1 Medical - minimum of 6 months validity when joining
  • The unrestricted right to work in the UK
  • English Language proficiency – minimum level 5

Pilot Apprentices

  • Valid UK Part-FCL issued Pilots Licence
  • Valid UK issued Class 1 Medical - minimum of 6 months validity when joining
  • Completed an APS MCC course, or a Jet Orientation Course (JOC) & Multi-Crew Co-operation course (MCC)
  • Strong ATPL results and Training record
  • Have successfully completed a Multi-Engine Instrument Rating (ME-IR)
  • The unrestricted right to work in the UK
  • English Language proficiency – minimum level 5

Apprentice Scheme

Our Pilot Apprentice scheme is all about getting to know our business, our ethos and our customers.

You will gain experience across a number of business areas, learning new skills and building relationships with colleagues. Over the course of the programme, you will spend time working in one of our bases as well as flying as Cabin Crew. On successful completion of the scheme, you will undertake a fully bonded Type Rating and join our fleet as a Second Officer with many exciting career development opportunities to follow.

The minimum entry requirements for the Pilot Apprentice Scheme are a UK issued Frozen ATPL Pilots Licence, completion of a Multi Engine Instrument Rating, a current UK issued Class 1 Medical Certificate and completion of an APS MCC Course, or a Multi Crew Co-operation (MCC) & Jet Orientation (JOC) course.
