2 | The Assessment Process & Offer
What stages are involved in the recruitment process?
The process includes several stages, such as online assessments, a remote video interview, and an assessment centre.
You can view our application guide for more details. We will also keep you updated on the progress of your application via email.
I have limitations on the days and times I can be available. How do you contact me or how can I contact you?
The primary method of communication will be via email from our Talent Acquisition team. Please add flightpath.recruitment@jet2.com to your ‘safe-senders’ list to avoid any communication from us going to your junk folder.
Most of our assessments can be completed from home. If you progress beyond the online testing phase, you will be scheduled to attend a remote interview via Teams, and the final stage will be an in-person assessment centre in Leeds or Manchester. The timescales for this will be confirmed as you progress through the recruitment process.
Is there any flexibility on the dates for the assessment centres?
If you are successful, you will be offered an assessment date or dates based on current availability. If the date is not suitable, we ask you to reapply at a later stage.
Please also refer to our application guidance document on the careers site, which contains an outline of the dates of key stages (subject to change)
Is there any travel assistance provided to applicants during the recruitment phase?
We are pleased to say that much of our assessment will be undertaken remotely so travel will not be required. If you are selected to attend our final stage assessment centre in Leeds, you will be required to organise your own

Are there minimum results required for the ATPL exams, and if so, what happens if I don’t obtain the required grades?
Studying and training for the theoretical knowledge exams that form part of the training course involves a lot of work and dedication. However, most trainees find
success following application of hard work and study.
Your progress will be monitored closely so concerns can be addressed should they arise. We will discuss any expectations around performance should you be successful at the application stage.
4 | After Training & General Questions
Am I guaranteed a job at the end of the programme?
Our intention is to offer a Second Officer position to all trainees who satisfactorily complete the training.
However, any offer of employment is conditional upon you meeting key criteria such as holding a valid medical certificate, receipt of satisfactory references which meet the Company’s requirements, including the ability to obtain and maintain an Accreditation Check and satisfactory evidence of your right to work and carry out the proposed employment legally in the UK. So there is no guarantee of a job at the end of the Programme.
What is the starting salary for a Pilot after successful completion of the
programme?
The expected starting salary after successfully completing your training programme will be in excess of
£35,000, with the exact amount confirmed at the time that an offer of employment is made and detailed in an offer letter and contract of employment. Additionally, you would receive flying allowances, including sector pay and a flight duty subsistence allowance.
Where will I be based upon successful completion of the training?
At Jet2, we’re proud to operate from 14 bases across the UK. Where training is successfully completed, you would have the opportunity to express your preferred base for future employment with Jet2; however, your base of employment will depend on operational requirements. If you are only interested in one specific base, please consider whether this is the right opportunity for you.
Will I have a choice around the aircraft type on which I’ll be trained?
Your aircraft type will be assigned upon completion of your initial flight training course subject to operational requirements
Will there be future intakes into the Jet2FlightPath Programme?
We expect the Jet2FlightPath Programme to continue in the future with annual intakes, but potential candidates should be aware that this is subject to operational requirements and may change at any time and without notice.
I currently have a mortgage, or other financial commitments. Is Jet2 offering any additional support to cover such costs whilst in training?
Jet2 is making a significant investment in successful applicants through the provision of funded Pilot training. Additional financial support is not available but accommodation and a contribution towards living expenses will be provided whilst training.
If you have other financial commitments, please consider
how will you continue to meet these obligations whilst on the Jet2FlightPath Programme. Undertaking any other employment whilst undertaking your training is not possible due to the time commitments required.
What are the benefits on offer?
During your training, you will be hosted by one of our partner training organisations.
To support your learning, you will be provided with accommodation as well as meals and/or a living allowance dependant on the Training School.
You will have access to training school support as well as a dedicated Jet2 contact to support and mentor your training. We will visit you during training and invite you to our headquarters so you can understand how we take our customers on their well-deserved holidays.

Class 1 medical?

However, any costs resulting from additional investigations required following an adverse test result will not be covered
Do Jet2 have any medical requirements beyond holding a CAA Class 1 medical?
Safety is everything to us at Jet2. As such, all Jet2FlightPath trainees must be able to maintain a valid medical certificate as required by the relevant section of the Air Navigation Order. Trainees may also be required to undergo a full medical examination to the satisfaction of the Company upon request. In addition, drug and alcohol testing maybe undertaken prior to course start and/or employment
I have a CAA Class 2 medical. Will this suffice?
No – a UK issued CAA Class 1 Medical is required for all students to qualify as a commercial airline Pilot.
