A Jet2.com tem uma história de 30 anos, com origem na Channel Express (Air Services) Limited, uma companhia de aviação comercial. Alterámos a nossa designação para Jet2.com antes da realização do nosso primeiro voo de lazer, que partiu do aeroporto de Leeds Bradford para Amesterdão, em fevereiro de 2003.

Foi então que as coisas começaram realmente a descolar para nós: nesse primeiro ano transportámos 360 000 passageiros satisfeitos! O nosso sucesso ao longo dos anos levou-nos a expandir as operações e hoje temos dez bases no Reino Unido.

Jet2.com celebrates ten years of taking to the skies!

Steve Heapy is promoted to Chief Executive Officer of Jet2.com and Jet2holidays, Philip Meeson becomes the Group's Executive Chairman and Gary Brown joins us as Group Chief Financial Officer. Many of our colleagues also move to the new 71.000 sq. ft offices at The Mint in Leeds City Centre, as we employ more than 1,500 staff in Yorkshire.

We move to The Mint

Many of our colleagues also move to the new 71.000 sq. ft offices at The Mint in Leeds City Centre, as we employ more than 1,500 staff in Yorkshire.

State-of-the-art Training Centre launched

We see the launch of our spectacular £9.5 million state-of-the-art Training Centre in Yorkshire, complete with three flight simulators.

Resort Flight Check In launched

Jet2holidays becomes the only European holiday operator to offer an innovative new baggage service, Resort Flight Check-in.

We land at Birmingham

We announce that we will be making Birmingham Airport our eighth UK base in 2017 and announce 57 weekly flights to 15 destinations from Birmingham Airport.

New UK Base and new aircraft

September 2016 was a big month for us! We marked a major step in our ongoing expansion with the launch of flights and holidays from London Stansted Airport, our NINTH UK airport base and FIRST in the South of England. Then, on 15 September 2016, our first brand new Boeing 737-800 aircraft arrived.

New Manchester Hangar opens for business

We opened our brand new hangar at Manchester Airport. The hangar covers an incredible 6,000 square metres of floor space, allowing our Engineering and Maintenance teams to work on up to three aircraft at the same time!.

Which? 'Recommended Provider' status

Jet2.com becomes the only UK airline to be recognised as a Which? ‘Recommended Provider’.

Jet2holidays becomes the UK's second biggest tour operator

In momentous news, Jet2holidays becomes the UK’s second biggest tour operator. ATOL data published by the Civil Aviation Authority showed that in the 12 months to September 2018, we were licensed to carry 2.94 million passengers. That’s a huge increase of 660,000 passengers compared to the previous 12 months!.

Jet2.com and Jet2holidays take off at TWO NEW bases

We celebrated a major milestone as our first ever flights and holidays took off from our TWO brand new UK bases (London Stansted Airport and Birmingham Airport) on the same day.

Leading the industry for customer satisfaction

A major study recognised Jet2.com and Jet2holidays as amongst the very best companies in the UK for customer satisfaction.

The benchmark UK Customer Satisfaction Index (UKCSI), produced bi-annually by the Institute of Customer Service, named Jet2holidays 4th out of almost 250 companies – making us the highest ranked tour operator for customer service. Jet2.com came 29th in the list – the highest ranked airline.

A year of amazing awards

Jet2holidays wins Best Short Haul Operator for the second year running at the Globe Travel Awards. We also win Best Trade Friendly Brand, and are voted by customers as Favourite Short Haul Operator. Jet2.com scoops Best Short Haul Airline for the fifth time in seven years.

Our industry recognition continues as Jet2.com wins Best Airline – UK and Best Low-Cost Airline – Europe for the second year running at the TripAdvisor Travellers’ Choice Awards, and also wins Best Economy Class – Europe. Our fleet reaches 100!

We mark another major milestone when we take delivery of the last of 34 brand new Next Generation 737-800 aircraft from Boeing - taking the number of aircraft in our fleet to 100!

Jet2.com and Jet2holidays were once again been named as one of the top brands in the country for delivering excellent customer service.

We were ranked 29 out of a total of 315 brands in 2018 for delivering excellent customer service in the 2018 UK Customer Experience Excellence Analysis, published by KPMG Nunwood.

Jet2.com and Jet2holidays lead the industry for outstanding customer service

Jet2.com and Jet2holidays have once again been recognised as amongst the very best companies in the UK for delivering first-class customer service, according to a major study.

The latest UK Customer Satisfaction Index (UKCSI), published by The Institute of Customer Service, named Jet2holidays joint 20th out of more than 250 companies – making us the highest ranked tour operator for customer service. Jet2.com came joint 45th in the list – the highest ranked airline in the study.

No other package tour operator or airline even makes the top 50, with all major brands and organisations featuring in the study.

Jet2.com and Jet2holidays are both Which? Recommended Providers

Jet2holidays was recognised as a Which? Recommended Provider for ‘taking the bar for package holidays and raising it through the roof’. This announcement came after Jet2.com was again recognised as a Which? Recommended Provider earlier in the year.

Jet2.com was crowned Airline of the Year at the prestigious TTG Travel Awards. We added to our vast award collection by beating several short-haul and long-haul carriers to scoop the coveted prize.

Jet2.com was recognised as a Which? Recommended Provider once again, marking the fourth consecutive year that the UK’s largest consumer organisation awarded us with this prestigious accolade.

Praise for Covid-19 pandemic response

In early 2020, Jet2.com and Jet2holidays faced the biggest, most unprecedented scenario in its history. The rapid global spread of coronavirus (Covid-19) forced border closures and lockdowns that brought the world to a standstill. Our Work As One Team ethos saw colleagues from around the business fielding thousands of enquiries across our Contact Centre and social media platforms, to communicate with, reassure and even repatriate customers. We've been recognised as the best UK airline and tour operator for how we’ve treated our valued customers. Furthermore, the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) acknowledged Jet2.com as the only UK airline to process and promptly provide Covid-19 refunds without significant backlogs!

Following the sale of our Distribution and Logistics business, Fowler Welch, earlier in the year, the Company applied to Companies House to change its name to Jet2 plc reflecting the continued focus on its longer-term strategy of growing its leisure travel business.

Announcing our 10th UK base - Bristol Airport

We marked another major milestone in our continued success story, by announcing the launch of flights and holidays from Bristol Airport, which became our tenth UK base.

Top scoring UK airline in Which?

Opting to focus on the issue of refunds rather than its annual airlines survey, the new Which? airline satisfaction survey asked people about their experience of getting their money back from the UK’s six major airlines after having a flight cancelled last year. We topped the table, receiving the highest satisfaction score when respondents were asked to rate the customer service they received when applying for a refund.

Jet2.com turns 18 years old

On the 12th February 2003 the first ever Jet2.com flight took happy customers from Leeds Bradford Airport to Amsterdam.

Back in 2003, we had two aircraft serving nine destinations. Since then we have grown to become the UK’s third largest airline, flying to a range of fantastic sunshine and leisure city destinations across Europe, the Mediterranean and Canary Islands.

Jet2holidays is recognised for delivering exceptional customer service and awarded the coveted Platinum Trusted Service Award for the second year running by Feefo, one of the UK’s biggest online review platforms.

Steve Heapy appointed as a Director of ABTA's Board

On 25 March, Steve Heapy, CEO of Jet2 plc, is appointed as a Director of ABTA’s Board.

We also continue to expand our product portfolio by adding Athens, Sardinia and Sicily to our superb, sun-soaked line-up.

In May, we’re praised by Which? once again, who name us the best package holiday company, as well as best city break and villas provider.

We welcome our customers back onboard

We’re delighted to finally welcome our customers back onboard when we restart flying on 24 June. The following week, we mark another major milestone as our inaugural flight takes off from our 10th UK base, Bristol Airport.

Recognised for delivering exceptional customer service

July sees us recognised once again as industry-leading for delivering exceptional customer service, according to the UK Customer Satisfaction Index (UKCSI).

Jet2holidays comes in joint 9th out of more than 250 major brands and organisations. That means we’re the top company in the ‘tourism’ category and the only tour operator to appear in the top 50 companies for customer service. Jet2.com is ranked joint 44th, making us the top ‘transport’ company, as well as the only airline to make it into the top 50.

As well as leading the industry, we continue to improve customer satisfaction despite the ongoing disruption caused by travel restrictions. Since 2020, Jet2holidays’ score has improved by 3.3 and Jet2.com has improved by 0.8.

Aircraft Order announced

Jet2 plc announced that in order to meet the future anticipated growth of its Leisure Travel business and to refresh its existing aircraft fleet, the Company had entered into an agreement with Airbus to purchase 36 new firm ordered Airbus A321 neo aircraft and also agreed flexibility to extend the order up to 60 aircraft.

Airbus purchase

We were pleased to announce that we’d agreed to purchase 51 new Airbus A321 NEO aircraft, with the flexibility to extend the order up to 75.
