Repairs Controller, based at Leeds Bradford Airport. This is a shift pattern role, working 4 on 4 off in 12 hour shifts. and Jet2Holidays are looking for a Repairs Controller at Leeds Bradford Airport to manage the repair cycle management process, Taking Responsibility to ensure the availability of a range of aerospace components to meet airline operational requirements. You will be required to make informed, operational and commercial decisions, based on maximising material availability whilst constantly seeking to drive down costs.

What will you do in the role?
As Repairs Controller, you will be collaborating with other departments and key stakeholders within the business, Working as One Team to ensure the maximum availability of spares to support the airline operation, base maintenance and all reliability campaigns. You will also:
  • Prioritise the workload to best expedite repairs and inventory in alignment with changing operational needs, programmes and environment
  • Manage and monitor all unserviceable rotable and repairable components within the inventory to ensure minimum stock levels and all company demands are maintained
  • Raise repair orders and manage direct shipment requirements in line with material usage
  • Review, approve and challenge all technical aspects of supplier quotations, inclusive of exchange quotations, to maximize reliability, quality and safety
  • Ensure the correct workscope, reliability and softlife and all SB/AD requests are included on any outgoing repair orders where required
  • Investigate price and invoice discrepancies and ensure timely and effective resolution
  • Ensure that, through constant monitoring and vendor management, allocated repair vendors are performing in alignment with contractual obligations and SLA’s to maximise material availability at the very earliest opportunity
  • Support Planning and Base Maintenance, attending regular progress meetings in order to ensure that repairs are completed to meet current maintenance schedule requirements
  • Continuously develop and enhance our customer/supplier working relationship
  • Manage, attend and follow up on regular supplier review and performance meetings, both onsite and at supplier facilities
  • Demonstrate and track material cost savings and reduced TAT wherever possible
  • Identify, support and intervene whenever supplier performance does not meet contractual obligations and instigate improvement plans and remedial actions to rectify when necessary and understand when and where to escalate
  • Review weekly WIP reports to ensure that supplier performance is maintained and monitored
  • Manage the Vendor Scorecard process to ensure that on the agreed basis, all key suppliers provide credible and accurate data in order to evaluate across the board performance and to demonstrate to wider audiences proficient vendor and repair cycle management
  • Understand the cost impact of your decision-making process to help minimise unnecessary costs to the business
  • Expedite outstanding orders proficiently to drive down the age profile of all open orders
  • Manage the warranty claim process, ensuring that all potential claim events are identified, investigated and challenged in order to reach a positive outcome for the business
  • Ensure all transactions, inclusive but not limited to orders, notes, remarks, WIP reports, quotations and scrap reports are correctly recorded on the company AMOS computer system
  • Action all assigned internal queries within the Technical Assistance module in the required time frame to ensure swift resolution to any departmental issues/requests.
What are the key skills / experience you’ll already have?
Our Repairs Controller will ideally have previous experience in repair cycle management/inventory control within an Aviation environment, preferably in a technical position. You will be able to recognise customer needs and apply this to the supply chain management process, demonstrating strong technical and commercial acumen. You will also:
  • Be familiar with and understand the AMOS system
  • Have strong problem-solving skills with the ability to influence where required
  • Have strong negotiating skills with the ability to interpret and understand market conditions
  • Have an operational focus with a hands-on approach
  • Be results-driven with a positive and approachable attitude
  • Have excellent organisational skills with a prepared approach and the ability to manage large amounts of information
  • Have strong attention to detail and well-developed verbal and written communication skills, being able to communicate and present effectively at all levels
  • Have the ability to work to deadlines within a pressurised environment and have a flexible, determined, approachable and can do, will do attitude
  • Be willing to work a shift-based work pattern with day shifts and be able to travel both domestically and overseas if required.
