Reporting to the General Manager – Engineering Purchasing and Logistics, the Purchasing Manager - Engineering is responsible for the management and control of procurement and utilisation of all aircraft spares and other engineering related items to support the Jet2.com fleet. This vital role ensures maximum value and return on expenditure at the highest possible service levels.
You will be responsible for the day to day management of cross functional Purchasing Teams (including Aircraft on Ground and Rotable Control). You will also lead on all aspects of contract and supplier relationship management and have significant input into strategic purchasing policies.
In addition, you will monitor and manage a vendor base, ensuring all items purchased are compliant with relevant criteria, analyse and monitor part usage and trends and maintain value for money through efficient budgeting. This is a ‘hands on’ role requiring a keen eye for detail.
The successful candidate will be an experienced Purchasing Manager with a proven track record of success, ideally within Aviation. You should have demonstrable ability to negotiate commercial contracts, set and manage budgets, and work closely with multiple Teams. In addition, you will be a credible leader, able to make and develop relationships with ease.
